circa 1942, 28 1/2in. nitro chopperlump barrels (No.2 reproved in 2023) with acanthus scroll detailing at the breech ends and the ribs gold-inlaid '1' and '2', the tubes engraved 'F. BEESLEY 7. BURY STREET. ST. JAMES'S. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 choke in all, minor dents No.1, No.2 right wall at 19, carved leaf fences, toplevers fold-inlaid '1' and '2' and engraved 'PATENT', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, the lockplates with the Beesley crown with scrolling banners engraved 'F. BEESLEY. PATENT. LONDON.', retaining traces of original colour-hardening, 15 1/4in. figured stocks including 7/8in. recoil pads, weight 6lb., in their individual lightweight leather cases
